We’re searching for the cheesecake recipe of the year. Is it yours?
Now is the time to show us. The Cheesecake of the Year contest starts now! From today through September 2, 11:59 p.m. ET, submit your original recipes and photos of your finished cheesecakes to compete for the honour of being named Philly Cheesecake of the Year. The winner will receive $5,000 and the winning cheesecake will appear in Canadian Living Magazine!
Plus, for every valid contest entry you submit this week, you will automatically receive an entry into this week’s random draw for a chance to win a KitchenAid® Stand Mixer! That means the more times you enter, the better your chances are to win this must-have addition to your kitchen. Please check out our Cheesecake of the Year page for more details.

While I don’t have a vivid recollection of baking my first cheesecake, I do recall, in my early days of baking professionally, how overwhelmed I felt when I had to make 12 cheesecakes at once for a banquet event. The recipe called for something like 6 kg of cream cheese and 36 eggs! Even when making big batches of cheesecake, and using large scale professional equipment, the recipe and the challenges are still the same: how to make sure you have a creamy cheesecake with no cracking!
What’s your biggest cheesecake challenge? Join the conversation below!
If you need any help entering the contest, visit the How to Submit page. To get started read the Official Rules for complete contest details, eligibility requirements and judging criteria.
Happy baking!

i've been using Philadelphia cream cheese for over 30 years i just love it my family love the cheese cake i make -
I'm not a very good cook, but I do love cheesecake so I am going to attempt to make one, I picked up the ingredients and a springform pan, it may not turn out too pretty, but if it tastes great, that's half the battle. Off to destroy thre kitchen, wish me luck :) -

What a wonderful contest! I too, am looking forward to seeing lots of different cheesecakes. Good luck to everyone! -
Of course, cutting your butter half and half with bacon fat will prevent the crust from burning. Just saying :) -
I AM SO VERY EXCITED about the contest!! I Love cheesecake and LOVE LOVE this opportunity to share my love of baking, Philly, and cheesecake. I so know what you are talking about Miss Philly , it can be so tricky to get it just right. Practice make perfect -
I cannot wait to see these entries! My biggest challenge was always the crust -- it tended to burn on the outer edges before it was fully cooked in the middle. I think I've gotten the thickness (and amount of butter!) just to the right point now, and that hasn't happened for a while.
