Hello, everyone!
Have you all taken a gander around our Cheesecake of the Year contest gallery? Looking at all of the delectable submissions not only makes me hungry, but makes me so proud of this community of amazing bakers! I can't wait to see which cheesecake the judges pick as the Cheesecake of the Year, but in the meantime, I thought I'd shed a spotlight on a few!
Some of us might like coffee or tea with our cheesecake, but others toss it right into the recipe! This week, I'm spotlighting some fun, caffeinated cheesecakes!
MiliSashimi has taken tea to new heights in her Candied Orange Chai Cheesecake! Using chai, Indian tea made from a mixture of herbs and spices and citrus, miliSashimi describes this cheesecake best: "This delicious dessert is still urban with a sophisticated South East Asian kick!"
EastMeetsWest's Garam Masala Chai Cheesecake with Spicy Chocolate Ganache uses chai too, which EastMeetsWest describes as "an everyday staple in India." However, as she put it, she wanted to "take the ordinary to the extraordinary" and so "combined it with cheesecake and melted chocolate spiced with cinnamon and chili -- heavenly!" You can say that again!
Christina O'Brien used flavours from a local coffee shop favorite in her Pumpkin Spice Latte Cheesecake with Pumpkin Seed Brittle and Cinnamon Nutmeg Cream "to evoke feelings of autumn." Mmmm, I can smell the fallen leaves already :)
Kimmy A's London Fog Cheesecake"combines the unmistakable flavours of a popular hot beverage known as London Fog" in her "melt-in-your-mouth goodness" dessert. "Topped with a London Fog Whipped Cream, it is sure to be a crowd pleaser." By looking at this picture, I find it hard to disagree!
For Rachel's Matcha Cheesecake, a "special blend of Asian and Western tastes," she used Matcha, or green tea powder, which "grants this cake a unique taste and texture." And it's beautiful, too!
Junebee's husband inspired her addition of blueberries and espresso to her Chocolate Latte Cheesecake. "My husband is espresso obsessed and always talks about the burst of blueberry flavor after a particularly good espresso shot and so I made this cheesecake for his birthday." Yum! I never thought of that combination, but now I'll have to try it!
Lgm29 calls her Decadent Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake "worth every calorie!" Easy to make, "pairing the delicious flavours of espresso and chocolate," this cheesecake looks and sounds decadent indeed!
Thanks again to everyone! Make sure you vote for YOUR favourite cheesecakes for our Community Choice Award and stay tuned to find out who the winners are of the Community Choice Award, the 5 KitchenAid® random draw winners and, of course, our Cheesecake of the Year! They will be announced the week of September 17.
Good luck!
Miss Philly

Chocolate cheesecake is the best treat ever. I make chocolate crust, chocolate Philly filling, chocolate whip cream and sprinkle with shaved chocolate, oh yes put a strawberry beside a slice .... on a pretty plate and your guests think you have spoiled them to the max. -

Love orange but don't like the look of the orange slices on top of the Chai Cheesecake, messy and unprofessional plus it would be difficult to eat. -

I can't say that I have ever had a cheesecake that I haven't loved if its made with Philly cheese!! -

Aww, Miss Philly, you are so kind! Thank you so much for featuring my garam masala chai cheesecake, and you really put "tea and coffee addiction" to a whole other level (if you're trying to get off coffee/tea or are trying to lose weight, this article just wiped off all the pros from that list of yours :P ). I can't wait to try ALL of these fantastic recipes, and I hope that the best cheesecake wins! Good luck to everyone! :) -
