Hi, everyone!
The season is right for a picnic, and why not do it for a great cause?
Last month, KitchenAid Canada partnered up with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) for the first ever Cook for the Cure PINKnic -- an elegant outdoor fundraising dinner coupled with the spirit and spontaneity of a flash mob! On June 25, to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Cook for the Cure, a partnership between KitchenAid and the CBCF, 400 Torontonians dressed in white brought their picnic dinners and enjoyed them under the stars in order to raise funds and awareness for the CBCF. Guests knew the event’s date and time, but weren’t told the exact location until 5 p.m., via text message, on the day of the event.

Attendees were delighted by world-renowned chef and KitchenAid spokesperson Lynn Crawford, musical entertainment, wine and festivities!

KitchenAid hopes to inspire Canadians to turn their next dinner, party or get-together into a Cook for the Cure party by asking friends or family to make a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! For every registered party, KitchenAid will pitch in $50 to help the cause. Since launching in 2002, the Cook for the Cure partnership has raised more than $2.1 million for the CBCF. What a great idea! They sure know how to get us ladies involved :) That stand mixer is just beautiful. -
I agree 100% with Lyndsay! I love that raspberry stand mixer! And I love that idea. We have friends over all the time... it would take no extra effort to make it charitable. -
That stand mixer is a thing of beauty! I am drooling over it in much the same way my husband would over a car :-) Sounds like a wonderful idea for a dinner party. -
I agree with you both completely! It's fun to have people over for dinner parties and it's fun to do good, therefore it's twice as fun to do both! And I must say, I do love the Raspberry Ice Stand Mixers, so it's great that buying those contributes money to the CBCF as well. -
Cancer is the leader causing death worldwide appx. 8 million, and so many people are undetected of cancer. I am pleased to read about this event, it is nice to see corporate companies feed the economy for a good cause being an all around win...win situation! Good on ya Kitchen Aid! -
I think it's wonderful what KitchenAid is doing and I will certainly help. I love hosting dinners and always try to participate in any kind of charity or fundraising events as possible. I know that KitchenAid has always been active in fundraising and awareness for Breast Cancer and I think it's great! Years ago I purchased one of their pink Food Processors to help support the cause.
