Some foods are so fantastic that they inspire a new word, don’t you agree?
I was thinking back on an occasion when I was at a friend’s house and she and I were trying out a dessert she had made. (It might have even been cheesecake, if memory serves.) With my mouth full, I attempted to tell her the dessert was delicious, but it came out “DEE-lushez.”

We started laughing and decided that should be a real word to describe something that is not just delicious, but is so good that it makes your eyes roll!
Have you ever made up words to describe a taste experience?
Speaking of delicious, did Miss Philly spotlight any of your favourite cheesecakes from the competition this week in her Would You Like Coffee or Tea in That? post? Click the photo below to see the 7 recipes she picked.
And don’t forget to vote for your favourite recipe to win the Community Choice Award! Visit the Cheesecake of the Year gallery to vote now. You can vote every day through Tuesday, September 11, at 6 p.m. ET.
Have a lovely weekend, and good luck to everyone!

I like using the word delicious heaven and i really love this. I usually attempt to get the recipe right after if it is that good. -
"Flumplings": flour + lumps = my Mom's dumplings. Yes, they were heavy, soggy lumps of dough. She has long since mastered the art, but back then... -

Yes! I coined the phrase "sensualicious" when I sampled a particularly delectable appetizer that was so delicious I quipped "it very nearly triggered a sensual reponse." -

I did not make this one up, but growing up when we would have a treat or my Mom would make something really delicious, my Dad would say "birdie num num" (I think he got it from a Peter Seller's movie) My Dad passed away in 2004 but this still comes to mind when I make a treat for the kids. (I can hear his voice saying it and it makes me smile) -

When we were teenagers we used to make up all sorts of words. My Retro Banana Split cheesecake reminds me of a word we used to use....Rad...which meant super awesome but I did not make that one up. It's hard to remember right now but when I do....I will tell you... -
That's my thing, friends know I always make play on words! lol So, if it's an egg dish, I've and I'm sure others, have used "EGGCELLENT". Used it just the other day! lol
